DC Comics is getting a new series underway with the November 27th, 2024 debut of Black Canary: Best of the Best. The new book is priced at $4.99 for the first issue which comes in at 32 pages. It has Tom King writing it with artwork by Ryan Sook and color design by Dave Stewart while Clayton Cowles handles the lettering. The release has a cover by Ryan Sook as well which you can see below.
King has a strong list of credits to their name, notably with The Omega Men as the big high for me, and is also working on Jenny Sparks and Wonder Woman. Sook is known for their work on numerous titles as well including Legion of Super-Heroes and The Spectre among many others.
Plot Concept: The match of the millennium! It’s Black Canary versus Lady Shiva to determine who is the single greatest hand-to-hand fighter in the universe! Who will walk away with the title?
