‘The Penguin’ Series Reveals New Teaser

2 min read

We learned back in July 2020 that HBO Max has a companion TV series to the feature film The Batman that Matt Reeves is directing in the works. Reeves is involved in the series and is working with Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter who is set to write the show. Reeves previously set an overall deal with Warner Bros. for projects and this is the first one.

Focusing on The Penguin, we knew previously that Colin Farrell was reprising his role from the film where he’ll join Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark on the producing side with Lauren LeFranc handling the scripting for it. We also learned late last year that Cristin Milioti has signed on to play Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine Falcone. Carmine was played by John Turturro in the film and Clancy Brown has come on to play the mob boss Salvatore Maroni and that just upped my excitement.

With the show planned for a fall 2025 premiere, Max has now dropped a new official teaser to get people excited for this.

Additional cast previously revealed includes Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly (House of Cards, Jack Ryan), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse, House Of Sand And Fog), and Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range, Dana H on Broadway).

Check out our review of The Batman.

Plot Concept: The series will build upon the film’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. The series will extend the world established in the movie and further explore the myriad complex characters of Gotham.
