It’s been a few years since the 2018 anime series Shinkalion came and went but now Takara Tomy is coming back for more with Shinkalion Change the World. Announced at the end of 2023, the series was previously set with an April 2024 premiere annd a lot of the basic details.
With the series recently setting an April 7th, 2024 premiere date, the latest update has come in with two more cast members revealed below.
The series has Kenichi Komaya directing it from the scripts overseen by Eiji Umehara. Daisuke Ishibashi is on board with the scripts as well while the character designers include Shiori Asaka and Niina Morita. Signal.MD and production I.G. are handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Hiiro Ishibashi as Taisei Onari
- Kenshō Ono as Akane Forden
- Shimba Tsuchiya as Ryota Kuzuryu
- Hana Tamegai as Bina
- Kaede Hondo as Mai Oume
- Chikahiro Kobayashi as Kadomichi Takanawa
- Eri Kitamura as Ina Ōnari
- Yuji Murai as Agano Tsugawa
- Hiroshi Watanabe as Sorachi Iwamizawa
- Misa Ishii as Miyoshi Ochiai
The new cast additions include:
- Masahiko Tanaka as Kaiji Hama
- Jirō Saitō as Tango Kawagoe

Plot Concept: “Unknown” is a mysterious enemy that suddenly appeared a long time ago. As a countermeasure, the “Evolutionary Railway Development Agency” (ERDA) has developed the “Shinkalion” robot that transform into bullet trains, to prepare for the threat.
“I want to be a cool person who can protect something…” Taisei Oonari, a second-year junior high school student, transfers to Shinkai Gakuen Middle School in search of clues about his older sister who disappeared two years ago.
Just then, the Unknown appears for the first time in 10 years. Taisei happens to have a high aptitude value as a Shinkalion pilot, and is forced to make a decision to fight it. What is the true nature of the Unknown and what is its purpose? What is the truth that comes to light at the end of the fight? The story of the boys’ determination and growth begins now.
